Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the Nitara Shankar website and your purchases on it. The store is operated from C-56, Anand Vihar Railway Colony, Ramnagariya Road, Jagatpura, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302017. By browsing the site, creating an account or placing an order you accept these terms, together with the Shipping, Returns, Refund, Privacy and Cookie policies, which are part of them. We keep the language plain on purpose; where a heading summarises, the paragraph beneath it controls.

We may update these terms as the business evolves; the version published at the time you place an order is the one that governs that order. Material changes are flagged on this page with the date of revision.

Accounts

Checkout requires an account so that your orders, addresses, tracking and invoices remain accessible to you. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide and for keeping your password private; actions taken under your login are attributed to you until you tell us the account is compromised, after which we will secure it promptly. One person, one account, please — duplicate accounts created to abuse offers may be merged or closed. You may ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy policy for what deletion can and cannot erase, such as tax records we must keep).

Products, pricing and availability

We sell physical goods from live inventory in our Jaipur store; the website is a window onto real rails. Descriptions, specifications, inclusions and measurements are given in good faith and with a tape measure, and handcrafted goods carry the natural variation described in our Returns policy. All prices are in Indian Rupees and include GST where applicable; the price at the moment you place an order is the price that binds both of us. In the rare event of an obvious pricing error — a lehenga listed at ₹499 by slip of a digit — we may cancel the affected order with a full and immediate refund and an explanation, which is the entirety of our liability for such errors.

If two orders race for a final piece, the earlier completed payment wins; the later is refunded in full at once. Promotional discounts apply as displayed at checkout and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Orders and payment

An order is an offer to buy; our dispatch of the goods is acceptance. We are fully prepaid — UPI, cards and netbanking via Razorpay — and do not currently offer Cash on Delivery. We may decline or cancel orders for suspected fraud, payment failure, address unserviceability or pricing error, always with a full refund of any amount taken. Invoices are issued electronically to your account and email.

Cancellation by you is available any time before dispatch for a full refund; after dispatch the Returns policy governs. Title to goods passes on delivery; risk passes on delivery too, which is why the courier leg is insured on our side and the 48-hour damage window exists for yours.

Delivery, returns and refunds

Delivery follows the Shipping policy: live-quoted courier rates or free shipping at ₹19,999 and above, dispatch in one to two working days, tracked delivery across more than 97% of India's pincodes. Sales are final as set out in the Returns policy, with the damaged-or-wrong-item exception honoured within 48 hours of delivery on unboxing evidence. Refunds, where they arise, follow the Refund policy: full, to the original instrument, initiated same working day. Those three policies are incorporated into these terms in full.

Acceptable use and intellectual property

You may use the site to browse and buy, not to scrape it wholesale, probe it for vulnerabilities, resell access to it, or post unlawful content in reviews. Reviews you submit may be displayed with your first name and edited only for length or legality, never to reverse their meaning. All photography, copy, the Nitara Shankar name and wordmark, and the site's design are our property or licensed to us; personal, non-commercial sharing of product images (a WhatsApp forward to a sister, a Pinterest save) is welcome, commercial reuse is not without written permission.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that Indian law does not allow to be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Subject to that, our liability for any order is capped at the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses — a missed function, hurt feelings at a rival's better outfit — beyond that amount. Courier delay within the estimates' nature as estimates is not a breach; parcels lost outright are made good in full as the Returns policy describes.

We are a small, careful house, and this clause is not a shield for carelessness — it is the ordinary boundary that lets a small business price honestly.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right to proceed under consumer-protection fora wherever the law grants them. Before any formal step, talk to us: the escalation path in our Contact page reaches the owner within a business day, and almost everything resolves there.

Communications, offers and reviews

By ordering you consent to transactional messages about your orders on email and, where you have engaged with us there, WhatsApp — these are service messages, not marketing, and cannot be opted out of while an order is live. Marketing communications, when we send them at all, are infrequent, clearly identified, and stoppable with one reply. Promotional codes and sale prices carry their stated conditions, cannot be combined unless said, and abuse through bulk account creation voids the orders concerned. Review requests go out once per delivered order; reviews must reflect genuine experience of a purchased item, and we never pay for, edit the substance of, or suppress lawful negative reviews — a store that hides its critics is advertising something worse.

Severability, waiver and the whole agreement

If any clause of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continue with the failed clause read down to the minimum the law requires — one bad brick does not collapse the wall. Our not enforcing a clause on one occasion is patience, not waiver; the clause survives for the next occasion. These terms, with the incorporated policies, are the entire agreement between us for website purchases, and supersede anything said in marketing material where the two conflict — though we work hard to make sure they never do. Headings are for navigation, not interpretation. You may not assign your rights under an order to someone else without telling us; we may assign ours only to a successor of the business who inherits these obligations intact.

Every complaint is acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt. Please quote your order number, describe what went wrong and tell us what you would like done; you will be given a reference for the complaint and updates against it.
